 His Excellency Mr. Tiémoko MORIKO was born on January 4, 1971 in Agnibilékrou in the eastern part of Côte d´Ivoire.

After his Scientific Baccalaureate (BAC D) and a Master's degree in Economics / Management obtained at the University of Bouaké (Côte d'Ivoire) in 1996/1997, he graduated in 2001 from the Higher Cycle of the National School of Administration (ENA), Diplomacy Section which he joined in 2000, after spending a few years in the private sector.

He then obtained, successively, the Certificate of Diplomatic Studies from the Diplomatic Institute of Beijing (China) in 2005 and the Certificate of training of trainers in the negotiation of International Investment Agreements at the University of Tunis (Tunisia), the same year.

Ambassador MORIKO, a career diplomat, joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 2002 and exercised his career both in the Central Department and in the diplomatic representations of Côte d'Ivoire abroad where he held various positions.

In charge of studies in 2002 at the Department of International Economic Relations and Development, then Deputy Director of Heritage/Budget at the Department of Financial Affairs (DAF) at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Assistant to the Special Advisor to the Prime Minister, in charge of diplomatic and humanitarian affairs in the Prime Minister's Office from 2003 to 2005, he was posted to Switzerland where he served for eleven (11) years as Counsellor, then as Acting First Counselor at the Permanent Mission of Côte d'Ivoire to the United Nations, the World Trade Organization (WTO) and other International Organizations in Geneva (December 2005 to December 2016).

Back in Côte d´Ivoire in January 2017, he served as Technical Advisor and Acting Chief of Staff to the Minister of Foreign Affairs until July 2018, then Acting Director of Global Issues and member of the Security Council in Abidjan (August to October 2018).

Assigned to the Permanent Mission of Côte d'Ivoire to the United Nations (UN) in New York on November 5, 2018, he served as Political Coordinator of the Security Council Cell until February 2019.  

Appointed as Ambassador on January 7, 2019, he served as Ambassador, Deputy Permanent Representative of Côte d'Ivoire to the UN in New York.

In October 2020, Ambassador Tiémoko Moriko was appointed Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Côte d´Ivoire to the Republic of Ghana, Togo with extension to Benin.

In January 2023, His Excellency Moriko was appointed Ambassador, Permanent Representative of the Republic of Côte d'Ivoire to the United Nations.

On April 17, 2023, he presented his Credencials to Mr. Antonio Guterres, Secretary General of the Organization, officially taking office as the New Head of the Ivorian Diplomatic Mission to the Organization.

Ambassador MORIKO is an Officer of the National Order of Côte d´Ivoire, he is married and is the father of three (03) children.
